Chapter 13

The couple had been wandering down the enemies hallways again, none of them carrying weapons of any kind. They had been silent for the past 20 minutes, not daring to speak, as it could cause problems for them both, and trouble was not what they needed at the moment. What they did need was to find their weapons and get out of there.

Legolas had been thinking the same thought through over and over again. He said I was his love, he really said that; Legolas’ thoughts were. He couldn’t believe that this man actually said he loved him. He was married, to a woman, and had been for years. They had a child and he was king. How could he say he loved him? Had it only been a poor choice of words, or was he serious?

At the same time, Aragorn did not think of what he had said, he was focusing on the most important thing at the moment, finding their weapons, so they could get out, always prepared to kick some orc butt, if they should run into some of them.

They kept walking in silence until they at last found the room with their weapons, unfortunately there were more orcs, just waiting for them to enter the room.
As the couple entered they heard screaming and the orcs attacked at once. Aragorn and Legolas parted, jumping to each side. The elf continued around the attackers, running toward the table with their weapons, reaching out for his blades.

The orcs attacked the human first, as he was closest, swinging their axe and broadswords toward Aragorn, who jumped away yet another time. He had noticed that Legolas had gotten past them and to the weapons, so he wanted to distract the orcs for the sake of Legolas’ safety at the moment.

The blonde elf, noticed what Aragorn was doing, and had to help fast, or else his lover would get cut down in seconds. Instead of taking his short blades he took his bow and quiver.

Aragorn got kicked in the stomach and had to stop for a moment, to breath, it would have been his death. An orc swung a sword directly toward his head, trying to decapitate him. The dark-haired male had no way to block the attack; he was in luck as he heard a “Swoosh”. The orc fell forward with an arrow in his head, dead.

The three other orcs turned to the elf, who had already put yet another arrow on his bow, releasing and killing another. The last two attacked him at once. Legolas did not move from where he stood, and in a couple of seconds the last two were dead.
“I guess this time it was your turn to save me?” Aragorn asked with a smirk and walked to the elf.

“I could not have done it without you Aragorn, thank you.” Legolas replied with a smile.
They went to the table and took the rest of their weapons, getting ready to get out of this dump. There weren’t many other obstacles on their way out, and those there were, were killed off by their bow and arrows, which both could handle skillfully, though one better than the other.

Soon they were out in the open, and none of them had expected what they were about to see. Orcs wouldn’t normally live a place like this, but there is always a first time to everything, though it did worry them both.

The area was covered in grass, moss and flowers. It was a rather nice and beautiful place. It worried Aragorn that they had moved this close to civilization. “Legolas, we need to stop them.” He said and clenched his hand.

Legolas took Aragorns hand and sighed. “We will do something about it, but not right now, first we need to get your wound cleaned, before it festers.” He said, looking up at the dark-haired, knowing that this was very close to Gondor. He took him away from the place, still sneaking so the orcs wouldn’t see them.

Nearby there were a small lake, where they sat down to relax a bit and plot how they were going to stop these orcs. The only way was to get rid of them, to kill them all.
Legolas reached for the others wounded hand, and gently took the piece of cloth of. The wound needed to be cleaned and it had to be now. So he dragged Aragorn down to the water and gently rubbed the wound in the fresh water. “I can’t do much about it here Aragorn; we can only wait till we get back to Gondor, to get it fixed properly.” Legolas said with a bit of worry in his voice.

The dark-haired smiled and assured the elf that he had done what he could and that was enough for him. “We need to stop the orcs Legolas.” Aragorn said and arose after the elf had wrapped a new band aid around his hand.

A deep sigh came from the elf, it was inappropriate but necessary if he wanted Aragorn to understand he did not approve of this. The sigh was responded with an annoyed look from the human male.

“I believe that deep sigh was meant to me?” Aragorn asked annoyed by it. And he received a nod from the blonde, which only made him a bit more annoyed. “You think I am acting rashly?” He asked.

“I think there are better ways to handle this situation. I know you want to protect Gondor, but Aragorn, think.” Legolas said to him, as he stood, trying to make the human understand.

“Those orcs can’t seize Gondor, I know that, and it isn´t that what worries me, it is the fact that they wanted us alive. I want to know why.” Aragorn said and looked into the shiny blue eyes, which stared back at him.

Aragorn was right; there were something odd about this. Orcs would normally never take captives; they would go for the kill at all times. Legolas furrowed his dark brows and thought about it for a moment.

“The orcs has a new leader?” Legolas said. The dark-haired gave him a nod. Confirming what Legolas had pointed out.

“That is the only solution. But who is their leader?” Aragorn said and ruffled his hair a bit, walking away from Legolas. “This leader knows who we are.” He added.
The blonde sighed yet again, thinking about all this. “Maybe he doesn’t directly know us. He could be after your throne. I mean you are the one with the highest position of us. I just came along because I helped you. And which person wouldn’t want to be the king of Gondor?” Legolas said and grabbed Aragorn by the shoulders.

Aragorn looked at Legolas with a small smile. “I didn’t want to be a king.” He said and a second after the elf moved closer and gave him a gentle and understanding kiss on the lips.
